I saw it on facebook: “You are Invited to the Dress for Success Sale.” I knew I had to go. I had attended this sale before I got pregnant, and I got the best items there. I heard about Dress for Success a couple of years ago when one of the organizers asked us to donate some jewelry for a silent auction at their gala. Dress for Success is an organization that “empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.” They have an office/store in Southcenter mall (Calgary) where they help their clients and host their sale.

I called up my friend and told her we were going shopping! I was not about to miss out on all the cool stuff they had. This place is like consignment, but for professional clothing. They have things that are brand new or almost new. A lot of the stuff is “old lady” stuff, but if you are willing to look you can find the best things.

I scored this amazing blue coat that kind of reminded me of the 80s. It is 100% wool AND made in Canada. I had to buy it. I had to. It was only $25. What?! $25?! Yeah, you heard that right. Twenty-five-dollars.
