Quebec City

I went to Quebec city this summer and it was beautiful! I only spent the day there, but it was worth it just to see one of the most beautiful cities in Canada.

General 54

Before heading to Quebec City, I stopped by General 54 to meet one of my favorite designers {Jennifer Glasgow}. I have been a fan of Jennifer Glasgow’s designs for many years. Getting the chance to stop in her store was an amazing part of my cross Canada Road Trip.

General54 is the cutest shop in Montreal’s Mile End district. This shop carries spectacular Canadian Designers that source many of their fabrics in North America and create their clothing in Canada.

I picked up this fabulous deep blue printed shift dress. It is very well-made and I love the fabric and cut. This dress can be worn from summer through the fall. Just add leggings!jennifer-glasgow-blue-print-srtistic-cross-dress-2

Why I love this Dress

First, this dress has POCKETS. All dresses, even wedding dresses should have pockets. That way you have one less bag to carry! I love the attention to detail in this dress, and the addition of pockets are a serious attention to the detail of real women’s lives. jennifer-glasgow-blue-print-srtistic-cross-dress-1

Why this dress is perfect for a day in Quebec City

There are only a handful of fashionable cities in Canada, and Quebec City is one of them. Once you get past the tourists, the locals are eternally stylish. The women’s clothing stores are so unique, that I wish we had the same vibe in Cowtown (Calgary). I wore this dress because a) I didn’t want to look like a mega tourist and b) I didn’t want to look like a Calgarian. This dress definitely had a bold enough print to look like I knew what I was doing, but the cut made it seem like I could be running errands in between play dates and meetings lol!

Afro Puff Mohawk

I was running out of ideas for my hair, so I settled on a faux hawk. My hair was all braided up, ready for the 50-hour car ride home. Instead of defaulting to a head wrap, I decided to take out 1/3 of my braids to make a faux mohawk with afro puffs 🙂

Accessories

NO outfit is complete without great accessories, I reeaaaally love stacking gemstone bracelets (as you can tell by all my outfit posts), so I picked similar colours that were found in the dress pattern and added them to the arm party!
