I woke up one day this week and finally noticed that the leaves were turning yellow. This slightly killed me inside. I dislike fall and winter. The cold is bitter and the days are shorter. There is one silver lining: school!

School gives my family and I a little more structure. I wake up early, and am, on average, more productive when my daughter starts going to school. Her trudging along to class on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday forces me to manage my time better than I do in the summer.

I also pre-plan. Food, clothes, and items for her backpack are all planned the night before. Also, my daughter’s hair gets done more often! Can’t be letting her go to school with a week old hairstyle!

It’s a little harder this year, having two children, but we are making the changes work for us.

Here are some back to school photos!

How do you deal with back to school?

  1. I know what you mean; I don’t like cold, rainy days. But at the same time I am happy that the season is changing! I’m bored of summer / is that awful of me?

  2. Aww! Thanks for sharing your sweet daughter with us! She’s beautiful! I hear you about the winter. Skiing is the only upside. LOL!

  3. I completely agree! We started school this past week and I feel so much more accomplished. I write out my to-do list the night before and try my best to stay on track. I do have a two year old and two month old as well though so I don’t always get everything done
