A few weekends ago my family and I went to Protospace! It is a really awesome Maker Space where many disciplines come together to create awesome things.

I think it is important to show my little girl about that there are many activities that she can be interested in like mechanics and robotics.

When we arrived we were introduced to a 3D printer and all the items that it had printed. We also saw old school computers!

We continued on and met a guy who had created a robotic duck using components he found in the store and online.

There were a lot of interactive activities for children like Lego and making a light with fiber optics, an LED light, and battery. Another interesting activity was a casting technique that I explained to my daughter was for “big kids”.

It was all good because once she saw the Lego it was hard to pry her away!

The best part was this useless box we saw on our way out! The person who thought of this was so clever and had a great sense of humor. Oh, and I made this video! It’s not the best, but I think it’s pretty good for a first attempt. 🙂

Overall, it was an awesome day hanging with the fam!

  1. This is such an awesome idea. I always loved doing stuff like this as a child and now as an adult, I’ll go with or without kids because I still really do love learning! Love your coat, too! Also, I’m trying to connect on pinterest under “Let’s connect” and it’s not linked to your profile.
